1. INFORMATION OF NINOHE CITY
(1) Minicipal Office Hours
Ninohe City Hall 8:30 - 5:00 (Mon. through Fri.)
Other Branch Offices 9:00 - 4:00 (Mon. through fri.)

(2) Newsletter(Koho) Service
The Koho Ninohe Newsletter is published once a month to provide information to the residents about city projects and daily needs. The newsletter is distributed to all households in Ninohe by block association liaisons. Contact the City Planning Division 23-3111 when you do not receive one.

(3) Municipal Housing
347 city owned houses are available in Ninohe City on request. Anyone from any nationality can apply for these houses when all the following conditions are met:
1) Total monthly income of a household should be within the legal standard.
2) Person who urgently needs a house at present.
3) Person who paid the city tax.
4) person who possesses Certificate of Alien Registration.

2. HEALTH CARE
(1) Emergency Medical Care on Holidays
Different clinics are designated monthly for emergency medical care on holidays as "on duty doctor". Be sure to bring your health insurance card with you. Please check with the Koho Ninohe Newsletter for a list of on duty doctors for the month.

(2) Emergency Medical Care at Night
Prefectural Fukuoka Hospital, 7-2 Ohata Horino 23-2191, accepts patients at night for emergency treatment. Be sure to bring your health insurance card with you.

(3) Prefectural Fukuoka Hospital
This municipal hospital, located at 7-2 Ohata Horino 23-2191, is set up to maintain and improve the health of Ninohe residents. There are 12 departments of;
1) Internal Medicine of Respiratory Organs
2) Internal Medicine of Digestive Organs
3) Nervous Internal Medicine
4) Pediatrics
5) Surgery
6) Orthopedics
7) Cerebral Surgery
8) Obstetrics and Gynecology
9) Otolaryngology(Ear Nose Throat)
10) Ophthalmology(Eye)
11) Dermatology(Skin)
12) Physical Therapy
The hospital holds 300 beds and has many staff including doctors, nurses, and others.

(4) Vaccinations
The city government provides group vaccinations as well as individual ones for the purpose of protecting residents from infectious diseases.

(5) Health Care Mothers & Children
The Ninohe City provides health care services services for pregnant woman, health checkups for infants and consultation services. The derails will be in the Koho Ninohe Newsletter. For inquiry, contact Health & Sanitation Division 23-3111
1) Medical Health Checkups for Infants
The internal checkups and physical measurement are given to the infants between 3~4 months and 9~10 months old respectively. The coupons for these checkups are available at Health & Sanitation Division.
2) Medical Checkup for 18 month-old Infants Dental advice, physical measurement, doctor's checkup and advice on nutrition are provided at the Public Health Center 23-3111
3) Medical Checkup for 42 months-old Children
Dental advice, physical measurement, internal checkup and consultations on health care are provided at the Public Health Center 23-3111
4) Neuroblastoma Test
This is the test to determine existance of possible children's cancer in both sides of adrenal glands of infants aged 6~7 months old.
5) Dental Checkup for Infants
Dental checkup is given to 18, 24 and 36 months old infants, and advice on brushing teeth & dental care and meals are given to parents.

(6) Health Care for Adults
To detect diseases in their early stage, the following medical checkup service for adults, who cannot receive these benefits at their working place, are provided in Ninohe. (7) National Health Insurance
You are expected to join National Health Insurance when you are permitted to work or study in Japan for at least one year after obtaining the Alien Registration Card, not having been covered by any other health insurance through your employer. One health insurance card is issued per family, identifying all the insured members in the gamily. Please submit this card whenever you visit hospitals or clinics for treatment. 3. REFUSE/WASTE DISPOSAL
Non disposable refuse by the City
* Please ask an electrical goods store for the disposal of old electric appliance, when you buy a new one.

Refuse from industries and organizations
* Industrial refuse from companies, hospitals, factories, restaurants and etc. and husks and remains of agricultural products are considered as business refuse. The industry or organization must dispose of the refuse properly or bring it directly to a refuse disposal plant, or contact an authorized refuse dealer.

Big bulky refuse from home
* Big bulky refuse from moving in or out will not be collected by the City. Please either dispose properly at your choice, or bring refuse directly to a refuse disposal plant, or contact an authorized refuse dealer.
1) The following chart shows the proper ways to separate and put out your refuse.
2) Put out your refuse at the designated garbage station by 8:30 on the morning of collection days.
3) Please check the Koho Ninohe Newsletter as the collection days for nonburnables change every month.

> Call want make an appointment when you want a large amount of ashes or soot collected.
The Ninohe City encourages our residents cooperate for recycling movement of recyclable refuse.

The City helps movement by paying 2 yen per kg. to the organizations or groups(children's groups,community organizations, women's groups) that are active with the movement.
